The University of Queensland (UQ) is a public research university in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. The Australian state parliament established it in 1909. The main campus of the University of Queensland is located in the riverside inner suburb of St Lucia, southwest of Brisbane's central business district.

UQ is one of Australia's leading universities, ranked 46th in the 2021 QS World University Rankings, 36th in the US News Best Global Universities Rankings, 62nd in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings, and 54th in the Academic Ranking of World Universities. Its Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences is also regarded as one of the best in the country. Political Science and International Relations, Sociology, Anthropology, Social and Public Policy, and Development Studies are among the many fields of study and research offered by the Faculty.

PGS students will receive a BA in Social Sciences from the University of Queensland as a result of our dual-degree collaboration.

 

Highlights

  • Diverse fields of study in social and political sciences, as well as multidisciplinary modules taught by faculty members from various schools

  • There are two distinct majors to select from: 1) Development and 2) Social and Public Policy.

  • Compulsory courses provide both conceptual and methodological skills and analysis, such as Introduction to Social Science, Politics and Public Policy, Policy Development and Practice, and Social Research in both qualitative and quantitative approaches, Research Planning and Design, and a hands-on module of a student's project.

  • The St Lucia campus of the University of Queensland is located in the Brisbane River area and is known for its charming blend of magnificent sandstone buildings and contemporary architecture, landscaped gardens, and beautiful lakes.

  • Brisbane is the metropolitan and capital city of Australia's Sunshine State, and it is well-known for its pleasant weather, vibrant activities, and beaches!
