Welcome to

Politics and Global Studies

Politics and Global Studies (PGS) is a multidisciplinary and multi-sited educational programme that prepares and equips the next generation to be world citizens and change-makers. Our philosophy, goal, and approach to education are well reflected in our three-part motto: knowledge, inspiration, and commitment.

We believe that a broad range of knowledge about the rapidly changing and multifaceted world is essential. Students will be exposed to a variety of ways of thinking, researching, and comprehending global politics and social complexities as a result of our multidisciplinary approach to education. Our education also goes beyond providing information and skills and focuses on the development of inspiration. We believe that learning can be a pleasurable experience that can aid in the development of individual identity. Furthermore, we hope to build a cohort of committed leaders ready to design and create their own sustainable future through our socially engaged learning modules and activities.

We will do our best at the PGS to provide a suitable platform where the world—a diverse kind of world—will come to embrace you.

But it is up to YOU to decide how you want to embrace the world.

Political science and international relations, global sociology, history, and philosophy, economics and public management, and research methodology on current issues from the global to the local level are all available.

Students in our programme will expand their knowledge potential through fundamental and elective courses in Politics and Global Studies taught by internationally recognised academics.

Students will be trained and equipped with leadership skills, global experience, and a broad range of knowledge on contemporary issues as a result of our international collaboration.

Our PGS programme attracts a diverse range of international scholars through international curriculum collaboration. Students will be exposed to both multidisciplinary and specialised knowledge fields. The faculty's cross-disciplinary expertise, practical research, and case studies will undoubtedly enhance students' learning and classroom experiences. Furthermore, we believe that different learning styles necessitate different types of space at the PGS. Our green and cosy library is designed to provide students with a variety of facilities and spaces where they can study alone or participate in collaborative activities that necessitate the exchange of ideas and discussions.

Being exposed to a variety of experiences is a common source of inspiration. The PGS dual-degree programme allows students to gain multicultural experience by learning to share their thoughts and interests with friends from various backgrounds. Our multi-sited programme encourages students to participate in a variety of teaching, learning, and extracurricular activities while meeting new people along the way. We also encourage students to learn about and participate in team-building activities. Students will learn to express their own ideas while also listening to those of others. This approach is taken seriously by our PGS learning modules and activities because it allows students to learn and engage with different ideas, to learn cross-culturally and cross-disciplinaryly, and to build trust and creativity.

Singhdam, as our student cohort is known, represents a group of committed leaders. At the PGS, we aim to develop our young people into committed leaders who are skilled at listening to other people's concerns as well as articulating their own ideas in order to find solutions to any challenges they may face in the future. PGS aspires to develop a young cohort of future leaders who are dedicated to their local and global communities. We encourage our students to learn from and work with people from diverse backgrounds. We will do our best to ensure that students learn to respect diversity and human dignity through our socially engaged modules, hands-on activities, volunteer work, and student research projects.
