Chulalongkorn Team Visit to University of Essex

During July 9-10, 2019, Associate Professor Dr.Ake Tangsupvattana, Dean of the Faculty of Political Science, Chulalongkorn University together with Assistant Professor Dr. Jakkrit Sangkhamanee, Deputy Dean on Academic Affairs and the Director of Politics and Global Studies (PGS) Program, and Assistant Professor Dr.Kasira Cheeppensook, Deputy Dean on International Affairs, had visited the University of Essex in Colchester, United Kingdom. The main purpose of the visit was to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on an academic collaboration between the two institutions. This was also the moment where an agreement on a mutual establishment of a dual-degree program was materialised and will be soon offered by both universities.

During the visit, Chula team was able to discussed in details with academic and administrative staff from the University of Essex. This comprised of the meeting with International Partnerships (Communications and External Relations) and the Partnerships team who will be in charged of academic arrangement. The Chula team also had a fruitful discussion with Student Experience and Student Support Teams to share their ideas and mechanism in place in order to support students’s life and their learning experience on campus. In term of academic meeting, the Chula team had a roundtable discussion with academic staff from both Essex Pathways and Department of Government where student attending our dual-degree program will be placed during their time in Colchester. Lastly the visit was concluded by a lunch meeting with the Dean of Partnerships and Senior Partnership Manager and an MoU signing ceremony witnessed by Professor Anthony Foster, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Essex.
